4. Product Analytics
We use PostHog, a product analytics platform, to understand how you use Rounds and to improve the Service. Analytics events are linked to your account (and email, if you add one). This includes:
- Which features you use and how often
- Your progress through cases and game modes
- Technical information about your device and browser
- Performance metrics and usage patterns
We also use Microsoft Clarity for session recordings and heatmaps to improve the user experience.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
We use cookies and browser storage for the following purposes:
- Authentication: Supabase sets cookies to maintain your session, including for guest/anonymous accounts created when you play without signing up.
- Timezone: We store your timezone offset in a cookie (rounds_tz_offset) to show you the correct daily case for your local date.
- Analytics: PostHog and Microsoft Clarity may set cookies to track usage across sessions.
- Game Progress: We use localStorage to remember if you've played today's daily case.
6. Playing Without an Account
When you play the daily case without signing up, we create a guest account to save your result. This guest account is anonymous until you add an email address. If you choose to add your email, your guest account is upgraded to a full account and your play history is preserved.
7. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: We may share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as email delivery, analytics (PostHog), and session recording (Microsoft Clarity).
